We only had one barely fit centre half at the time and it was evident from playing Koyoute there that the midfield was fucked without him.

You've answered you own question haven't you? He played Burke because Kouyate is a better option in midfield.
Last time of course when he switched Kouyate back, Burke was injured or he said he would have played then.

My point being if Reid etc weren't injured he wouldn't have played, hence he had no choice.
The way the season has gone, every single promising youngster we have should have been getting games ahead of the useless buggers already filling the positions.
It's embarrassing that while accumulating a whole 2 wins in 4/5 months, people like Poyet haven't played a single second.
